Renewable Fuel
A fuel that has been made with bio-mass as opposed to fossil fuels.
Corn Ethanol
Ethanol that has been distilled from corn.
Cellulosic Ethanol
Ethanol that has been distilled from bio-mass (i.e... corn stalks, sugar cane, switch grass...)
E85
A blend of ethanol that is 15% unleaded gas.
E100
Pure ethanol.
Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV)
A automobile that has been modified to run on a ethanol blend of gasoline.
Ethanol Cocktail
Term for when the owner of a non FFV fills up a tank of gas with 1/2 unleaded and 1/2 E85.
Blender Pumps
These fuel dispensers mix the ethanol and unleaded gas into multiple blends for extra consumer choices.
Bio-Diesel
A blend of diesel fuel with bio-mass.
B20
A blend of diesel that has 80% diesel fuel to 20% bio-mass (no fuel system modifications required).
B100
Pure bio-diesel (fuel system modifications required).
